Animals: These labs use animals to do experiments on animal physiology. Please see the detailed discussion of animal use ethics in lab manual, and speak with Professor Devoto to discuss any issues surrounding animal use in lab.

There are two lab reports, see your lab manual for formats (available here).
Lab notebooks should contain all data recorded during each session, including sketches, measurements, diagrams, changes to protocols, calculations, and answers to questions from the handout. You may also include notes from pre-lab lectures. There should be enough dates and labels to be able to tell, at some point in the distant future, why you wrote down what you wrote down, and what it means. Beauty is not an issue and full sentences are often not necessary. See Notebook Guide. Lab notebooks will be turned in at the end of certain lab sessions, as indicated.

Lab Notebook	10 points (5 points after week 3, 5 points after week 6)

Extensions and absences. If you have any issue that you feel warrants an extension or other special treatment, I will always consider it fairly. However, as is standard policy at Wesleyan, I need to hear from your dean. If you contact your dean, they can contact the Health Center (or anywhere else that is appropriate). Your dean will then send each of your professors a quick note explaining your situation. As soon as I get this note, I will authorize the TA to give you a reasonable extension.
Late reports. All lab reports handed in late will be penalized 5% for the first day late, and 10% additional for each additional day late.
